From June 6th to 8th 2018, the Annual Conference was held in Copenhagen, Denmark. Deputy secretary of FME's Party committee and associate dean of FME-- ZHENG Hao presented at the conference at the invitation of European Foundation For Management Development (EFMD), receiving the EQUIS accreditation certificate on behalf of FME.
In the year of 2018, only 4 business schools in the world were accredited by EQUIS, including Dalian University of Technology Faculty of Management and Economics in China, the Faculty of Management of Warsaw University in Poland, Nottingham Business School of Nottingham Trent University in the UK, and Hult International Business School in the US. During the awarding ceremony, ZHENG Hao received the certificate from chairman and CEO Eric Cornuel and president Arnoud De Meyer on behalf of DUT FME.
At the reporting stage of the conference, Jonathan Wareham and other experts had a discussion on industry 4.0, while LinkedIn senior manager-- Jeff Mattews introduced the hard and soft skills essential to the future work from the perspective of big data analysis. He pointed out that hard skills can be obtained in fields of “Cloud Computing and Distributed Computing”, “Data Analysis and Mining”, “Middleware and Integration software”, “Network Construction and Development Framework”, “User Interface Design”. At the same time, soft skills mainly come from fields of “Leadership”, “Communication and Collaboration”and “Time Management”.
At the EFMD Global Network (GN) Annual General Assemblies 2018, EFMD president Alain-Dominique Perrin reviewed the work in 2017, including expenditure and finance, and gave detailed elaboration to the new EFMD Highered and other programs. Nadine Burquel, director of EFMD Business School Services, introduced the accreditation review conditions for all programs accredited in 2018.
By obtaining this accreditation, international reputation of DUT FME is further enhanced, and communication with other internationally renowned business schools is further strengthened. At the same time, the theme and the reports of the conference provide useful references for FME to deepen its thinking in future business education, which is conducive to the faculty to formulate and implement continuous improvement plan in accordance with the EQUIS accreditation system, to promote FME's international development strategies, and to cultivate first-class business talents with international visions.
