The Romantic City-Dalian

Dalian is located in the south of the Liaodong Peninsula in northeast China, bordering the Bohai Sea in the northwest and facing the Yellow Sea in the southeast. It is a sub-provincial city and one of China’s 14 open coastal cities. Dalian is an important seaport city in China, the second largest city in Liaoning Province, and an important international regional financial center in the Northeast. In 2012, it ranked the eleventh among all the cities across China for its competitiveness, and ranked No.1 in northeast China.

Dalian University of Technology (DUT) is a national key university administrated directly under the Ministry of Education of China, which is also supported by “Project 211” (Project 211 is a project of National Key Universities and colleges initiated in 1995 by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China) and “Project 985” (Project 985 is implemented by Chinese government for the construction of a number of world-class universities and a number of internationally renowned high-level research university higher education construction projects) . Libraries

Bochuan Library

Bochuan Library is located at the central area of the main campus, named after Dr. Qu Bochuan, one of the school founders and famous educators in our country. Built in 1999, its construction area is 20 thousand square meters. Bochuan Library provides resources in the liberal arts, social sciences, natural science books in Chinese, periodicals of social sciences in Chinese, science journals, literary journals and newspapers, dissertations, and conference proceedings in foreign languages and other special literature.

Lingxi Library

Lingxi Library is located in the west part of the main campus, named in honor of Academician Qian Lingxi, a famous educator and mechanics expert in our country. It was officially opened in 2011, with the construction area of 30 thousand square meters, and positioned as engineering library. It includes the collection of Engineering books in Chinese, foreign language books, periodicals, journals, Chinese literary periodicals and newspapers. It is a highly information-automatized university library, and becomes another landmark building after the Bochuan Library.

Liu Changchun Stadium

Liu Changchun Stadium of Dalian University of Technology was put into service in September 2003. It’s named after professor Liu Changchun, who worked as PE teacher in DUT for 30 years, also well known as “pioneer of Chinese sports”, “the first Olympic champion of Chinese players”. This modern and comprehensive stadium is one of the most versatile and advanced gymnasiums among all universities in China.
